Katie Price, the 45-year-old model and reality TV star renowned for her multiple cosmetic surgeries, has spoken out about her desire to educate young women about the potential risks associated with cosmetic procedures.
Price, who has undergone 16 breast augmentation surgeries along with liposuction, eye, and lip lifts, expressed her concerns about the growing trend of young women opting for fillers, lip injections, and breast enhancements.
In an interview on the podcast “How To Fail With Elizabeth Day,” Price emphasized that she wasn’t being hypocritical in her remarks, pointing out that she didn’t begin altering her face until she was in her 40s. She admitted to having a breast augmentation but claimed she didn’t opt for fillers until her late 20s and experienced negative outcomes, likening her appearance to that of a duck.
Expressing worry over the homogeneity in appearance among young women due to cosmetic procedures, Price questioned what they would look like in their later years. She revealed that even her own children had been put off by her surgeries, expressing concern whenever she considered undergoing further procedures.
Highlighting the unseen aspects of plastic surgery, including the pain, stitches, and necessary bed rest, Price stressed the importance of educating people about the potential physical and psychological tolls of such procedures.
Price also opened up about the impact of her romantic relationships, attributing her financial struggles and mental health issues to the men in her life. She candidly discussed her marriages, describing her relationships with Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler as mere rebounds following her split from Peter Andre, with whom she shares a genuine connection.
Diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) last year, Price believes her condition has influenced some of her past decisions, leading to what she perceives as poor choices in life.
Acknowledging the importance of communication and therapy in coping with her struggles, Price hopes to raise awareness about the complexities surrounding cosmetic surgeries and the broader societal pressures that contribute to them.
