Actor Rajkummar Rao found himself in the midst of a lighthearted debate surrounding his appearance following the circulation of a viral picture from Diljit Dosanjh’s recent concert. Speculations arose regarding the possibility of plastic surgery, prompting Rao to address the rumors head-on, asserting, “It is not plastic surgery!”
Delving deeper into the discussion, Rao expressed amusement upon being compared to Rishabh Sawhney, the antagonist in the film “Fighter” (2024). “I found this debate very funny,” he remarked, analyzing the viral image. “That image looks too clean to be true, I don’t have that kind of flawless skin. It felt touched up, I genuinely believe that. I started looking like a K Pop star.”
Acknowledging the natural signs of aging, Rao candidly discussed his journey, stating, “I have lines, I am not a 21-year-old guy anymore.” Recalling his early days in the industry, he revealed encountering comments about his appearance. “When I was starting out as an actor, a lot of people would say ‘you won’t be able to play the lead parts, you don’t have what it takes,'” he shared.
Reflecting on his decision to explore cosmetic procedures, Rao disclosed his experience with fillers to address perceived facial imbalances. “I got introduced to all this,” he admitted. “My chin was slightly low. I used a little bit of filler and I actually felt the difference.” Emphasizing personal choice and confidence, Rao affirmed, “It’s my life, my face. If something medicinal is available, why not? If something gives me confidence, I would rather do it.”
Rao, who has an array of upcoming films slated for release in 2024, concluded with a pragmatic view on cosmetic enhancements, advocating for moderation to maintain one’s natural appearance.
