Edinburgh residents are being advised to reach out to the City of Edinburgh Council if they have scheduled a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure in the Capital over the upcoming weekend.
The Council’s Environmental Health team has been alerted to the possibility of BBL surgeries occurring from Friday, April 26th, to Sunday, April 28th, following responses to social media posts.
Similar procedures in other UK regions have led to complaints and serious health complications, including sepsis.
Cllr Neil Ross, Convener of the Regulatory Committee at the City of Edinburgh Council, expressed concerns about the safety of such procedures, stating, “We have become aware of potential Brazilian Butt Lift procedures taking place in Edinburgh this weekend, and we have reservations about their safety. We are worried about the potential health risks to the public and encourage anyone who has booked such a procedure to contact us urgently.”
