Pregnancy can bring unexpected challenges, and actress Mandy Moore is navigating one such hurdle as she awaits her third child. Known for her roles in ‘This is Us’, the 40-year-old star recently shared her struggle with melasma, a common skin condition among pregnant women causing brown or blue-grey patches on the face.
In an Instagram post featuring a skin device, Moore expressed her frustration, stating, “Pregnancy melasma is the pits.” The device, a Lyma Laser, is renowned for its effectiveness in treating various skin concerns including signs of aging, wrinkles, rosacea, pigmentation, and scarring.
Speaking about her condition, Moore mentioned her interest in the Lyma Laser, suggesting it as a potential remedy for melasma. Experts describe melasma as harmless but persistent, often affecting areas like cheeks, nose, and forehead during pregnancy.
Moore, who announced her pregnancy in May alongside husband Taylor Goldsmith, humorously referenced her character’s storyline in ‘This is Us’, noting, “Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon.”
Reflecting on her current pregnancy, Moore shared with People magazine the unique challenges of expecting while caring for two toddlers. She has previously dealt with severe eczema, describing the discomfort and impact on her career. “I was constantly thinking about it while I was on camera. I wanted to tear my face off. It itched so bad”.
Despite these challenges, Moore remains resilient, balancing her career and family life amidst these personal health battles.
