Garnier Men has unveiled a new campaign titled “The Right Fit for Your Face,” promoting their Acno Fight facewash. Building on the success of their ‘Misfits’ campaign, which garnered 300 million views, the brand has expanded its collaboration with the Mumbai Indians cricket team and actor John Abraham to boost skincare awareness among male cricket enthusiasts.
The campaign features a multimedia series with John Abraham and Mumbai Indians cricketers Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, and Tilak Varma. These videos emphasize the importance of using appropriate skincare products, paralleling the need for the right cricket gear. The series highlights the benefits of proper facial cleansing and includes a contest hosted by Garnier Men, which attracted 1,500 entries and increased engagement during the 2024 Mumbai Indians season.
Anshuman Wanchu, General Manager of Marketing at Garnier, L’Oréal India, commented, “Garnier is dedicated to revolutionizing men’s grooming habits across the nation. By partnering with cricket icons like Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah, we aim to capitalize on key cricket moments and the passion and community spirit they inspire. Our ‘Fit for Your Face’ campaign is not just about finding the right skincare routine but about transforming grooming habits and raising the standards of men’s skincare across India. With 73% of men in India still using soap on their faces, we are committed to leading this change and fostering a new era of skincare awareness and excellence.”
John Abraham, brand ambassador for Garnier Men India, expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign, stating, “I am thrilled to be part of this exciting campaign with Garnier Men and the Mumbai Indians. My long-standing journey with Garnier Men is a testament to the brand’s mission to transform male grooming habits in India. Cricket demands peak performance, and grooming plays a crucial role in maintaining confidence both on and off the field. This initiative was a fantastic way to engage fans and emphasize the importance of a good skincare routine. I look forward to seeing how this partnership continues to inspire and elevate men’s grooming standards.”
The summer cricket campaign kicked off with interactive experiences at major Indian cricket grounds, addressing skincare issues like acne and oiliness. A standout feature was the Garnier Men’s Locker Room at Wankhede Stadium, where cricket fans enjoyed grooming sessions that highlighted the importance of skincare in sports, especially in humid weather. Creative illustrations compared using the wrong cricket gear to using soap on the face, underscoring the need for a dedicated facewash. The campaign also saw participation from former cricketer Harbhajan Singh and creators Mahesh Kelawala and Funcho, who engaged fans in contests such as bowling and skincare experiences.
