Clear Skincare’s Exfoliating Gel Cleanser, packaged in a 150ml bottle, has been recalled nationwide following safety concerns, Product Safety Australia (PSA) announced on Wednesday.
The recall was initiated after the PSA discovered that the product failed to meet mandatory cosmetic labelling standards due to an inaccurate ingredient list. According to the PSA, the discrepancy poses a potential risk of allergic reactions for consumers who may be sensitive or allergic to certain ingredients not listed on the label.
“Consumers exposed to unlisted allergens may face adverse reactions, and without an accurate ingredients list, they are unable to identify these potential risks or seek appropriate medical treatment,” the PSA statement explained.
The Exfoliating Gel Cleanser was distributed through Priceline stores across Australia from February 27 to July 10 of this year.
