Mercy Eke, a prominent figure from Big Brother Nigeria and an acclaimed actress, has shared candid details about her experiences with cosmetic procedures, including her Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Eke’s revelations came during her recent appearance on a popular game show.
In the episode, Eke discussed the factors influencing her decision to undergo surgery, attributing her choice to the prevalent trends and peer pressure of 2018. “To be very truthful, it was the trend at the time. I think this was around 2018 and it was the trend, peer pressure, and everyone was doing it,” Eke stated. She admitted that although her body was in good shape, she was dissatisfied with her stomach area.
The reality star recounted her apprehensions prior to the procedure, revealing that she kept her plans a secret from her mother to avoid discouragement. Eke and two friends coordinated and financed their surgeries together. “I was really scared when I wanted to do it; I didn’t tell my mum because I didn’t want anyone to discourage me. So it was me and two of my other friends, we planned it, paid and did it together,” she explained.
Eke described the post-surgery period as challenging, with significant discomfort and strict post-operative care. She recounted the pain of having to lie on her stomach for approximately 14 days to prevent pressure on her buttocks, as well as the discomfort associated with post-operative massages. “Getting your body massaged after the surgery is the painful part, also not being able to sleep on your bum for 14 days thereabout so you have to lay with your stomach. Also, when the nurses try to massage you to bring the water out,” Eke detailed.
Despite the pain and discomfort, Eke considers the procedures to have been worthwhile. She also addressed rumors about additional surgeries, clarifying that she only received facial fillers. “It was worth it. People keep saying that I touched my face so I keep posting throwbacks for them to see. I have only touched my lips, I had fillers done, it dissolves after 3 months and I feel like people need to be more educated,” she said.
Eke concluded by highlighting the natural feel of her body post-surgery, noting that her buttocks, after liposuction, are soft and akin to the texture of water. “I had liposuction done and my bum is the softest you would even touch, it’s just fat so it feels like water,” she added.
Eke’s openness about her cosmetic procedures provides a rare glimpse into the personal motivations and experiences behind popular beauty trends.
