Teddi Mellencamp, best known for her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has shared insights into her ongoing battle with skin cancer. The 43-year-old TV personality, who first joined the cast in season 8, was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022 and has since undergone 16 surgeries.
Mellencamp spoke candidly about the mental and emotional toll her treatment has taken on her. “The hardest part has been the mental toll,” she said. “When things are out of your control, and you can’t plan for it, you have to accept what’s happening and try to find peace in that.”
Mellencamp also reflected on her darkest moments during the process, particularly her fears about the future. “You have very dark moments where you think, ‘What if I don’t make it? What does that mean for my children, my husband, my business?'” she revealed.
Despite the physical and emotional challenges, Mellencamp continues to find ways to cope. She acknowledged the importance of allowing herself time to process difficult emotions, saying, “I have big highs and lows depending on what’s going on with my surgeries. But there are days when I say, ‘I’m going to let myself crash today.’ I give myself three hours, have a cry, feel the emotions, and it’s easier to process than pretending everything’s perfect.”
In addition to her reality TV fame, Teddi Mellencamp is a wellness coach. She married Edwin Arroyave in 2011, and together they have three children: Slate, Cruz, and Dove. Mellencamp is also a stepmother to Bella, Arroyave’s daughter from a previous relationship. She is the daughter of legendary singer-songwriter John Mellencamp.
As Mellencamp continues her battle with melanoma, she remains vocal about the impact of her health struggles on her life, while also serving as a source of inspiration for others going through similar experiences.
