In a commendable initiative to promote eye health, Shankara Eye Hospitals, in collaboration with the Phoenix Foundation, recently organized a large-scale free eye health camp for members of the Movie Artists Association (MAA). The event, which garnered significant attention, featured the active participation of MAA president Vishnu Manchu, vice president Madala Ravi, treasurer Shiva Balaji, and other prominent members.
The camp provided complimentary eye examinations for MAA members, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing vision health. The initiative was widely praised for successfully delivering essential health services to the entertainment industry community.
Vishnu Manchu Commends the Initiative
Speaking to the media, MAA president Vishnu Manchu expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Shankara Eye Hospitals and the Phoenix Foundation for organizing the camp. “This initiative reflects the spirit of selfless service,” he stated. Manchu also recognized the contributions of Padma Shri Dr. Ramani, who has played a crucial role in establishing free eye hospitals across India. “With the blessings of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham pontiffs, we are grateful to witness such services benefiting the community,” he added.
Madala Ravi and Shiva Balaji Stress Eye Health Importance
Vice president Madala Ravi thanked key contributors, including Chukkapalli Suresh and Chukkapalli Avinash from the Phoenix Foundation, for their continuous support in service activities. “The camp, under the Shankara Eye Foundation’s banner, is a proud moment for us, and we appreciate their efforts to provide free checkups to our members,” he said.
Treasurer Shiva Balaji emphasized the significance of eye health, noting that many individuals often overlook eye issues until they escalate. He praised the initiative, highlighting that Shankara Eye Hospitals have facilitated over 2.5 million free surgeries, describing it as “a remarkable achievement.”

Nilesh Jani, director of the Phoenix Foundation, reiterated the organization’s commitment to combating blindness. “By partnering with MAA, we can broaden our reach and impact more individuals effectively,” Jani remarked.
Vishwa Mohan, head of Shankara Eye Hospitals, underscored the importance of early detection in eye care. “The eyes are one of the most vital senses, and neglecting them can result in irreversible damage. We are honored to provide these services to MAA members,” he stated.
