Jesy Nelson, the former member of Little Mix, recently opened up about her past consideration of breast augmentation, revealing that she “almost got a boob job” two years ago after a doctor suggested she needed one. The 33-year-old singer shared her thoughts in an Instagram post, expressing gratitude for ultimately deciding against the procedure.
In a candid Instagram story, Jesy shared a clip from the podcast Sisters In The City, hosted by Anna and Mandi Vakili, who discussed their own experiences with cosmetic procedures. Jesy praised the hosts for their authenticity, stating, “I absolutely adore these two for being so real about this.”
Reflecting on her own insecurities at the time, she admitted, “It was a very insecure stage of my life and just wanted to feel loved.” However, through personal growth and introspection, she realized that no cosmetic change could address her deeper issues. “I’m so thankful that I never got them done because I know I would have regretted it,” she added.
Jesy emphasized her support for those who choose to undergo cosmetic surgery for personal happiness, while urging others to carefully consider such decisions. “These things can’t be reversed and could cause you to feel worse about yourself. We are all born different for a reason and that’s beautiful,” she stated.
In the podcast clip Jesy referenced, Mandi discussed the illusion of perfection often portrayed on social media, highlighting the pressures of maintaining appearances. “The more surgery you get, the more surgery you’re going to need to fix and undo all them previous surgeries,” she noted, expressing regret over her own past decisions.
Anna echoed this sentiment, urging young girls to think critically about the necessity of surgery. “If there’s any young girls watching this, really, really think hard before you go for surgery. Is it something you really, really, really need?” she advised.
In addition to her thoughts on cosmetic surgery, Jesy addressed the complexities of her personal relationships. Following comments from her former bandmate Perrie Edwards about their fractured friendship, Jesy shared a cryptic message on Instagram stating, “The internet is gross and so are humans.”
Perrie reflected on their friendship during an appearance on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, noting that it inspired a new song. She described the heartbreak of losing a close friendship, saying, “We don’t know how to talk about friendship breakups.”
The dynamics between Jesy and her bandmates have shifted since her departure from Little Mix in December 2020, a decision she made due to the “constant pressure” of being in a girl group. Following the breakup, Jesy reportedly ended her relationship with R&B artist Zion Foster after nearly two years, with sources indicating that the couple has completely cut ties.
