Kathy Swarts, a 71-year-old star from The Golden Bachelor, recently opened up about her plastic surgery journey, sharing a transformation video on her Instagram account on November 5. The video showcased Swarts’ before-and-after photos, revealing the enhancements she made to achieve a refreshed appearance.
In the video, Swarts zoomed in on an initial “before” photo of herself smiling, where visible wrinkles beneath her eyes could be seen. She marked this photo with the caption “Before.” Moments later, the video transitioned to an “after” clip, where her face appeared noticeably smoother. Holding her hair back, Swarts displayed a small scar near her ear, indicating the site of her facelift surgery, which she humorously captioned with, “So…what do you think?.” Swarts expressed her gratitude to her plastic surgery team, adding, “Thank you to the amazing team at @danyoplasticsurgery for their incredible work!”
Hours after posting the video, Swarts provided more details about the procedures she underwent. She explained that she had a lower facelift targeting the area below her cheekbones, which included a subtle neck lift. “I wanted to look like myself, just with fewer wrinkles,” she explained. “And voila! I got it.”
Swarts also mentioned additional treatments that contributed to her new look, including a CO2 laser procedure and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. “The CO2 laser made me look like Humpty Dumpty for a while, but it didn’t hurt,” she said lightheartedly. “It just puffs up your face temporarily.” The IPL treatment, she added, effectively cleared her complexion of brown spots, which she attributed to aging. Although the IPL caused mild discomfort, Swarts was thrilled with the result, playfully noting, “I have the face of a baby’s butt.”
Swarts’ openness about her cosmetic journey is part of a broader trend among The Golden Bachelor stars, who have been candid about undergoing similar procedures. Fellow cast member Susan Noles, 67, also shared her cosmetic experiences. On October 16, Noles documented her own breast reduction and lower facelift, followed by a CO2 laser treatment. Swarts and Noles have been candid with fans about their decisions, emphasizing their commitment to self-care.
The Golden Bachelor castmates have shown that taking steps to look and feel better at any age is a personal decision. Joan Vassos, a contestant from The Golden Bachelorette, expressed support for Noles’ journey in an October 17 Instagram post, commenting, “I love that you always take charge of your life. You did this for you, and you deserve it!”
Swarts and her fellow Golden Bachelor castmates continue to inspire audiences, sharing their stories of self-empowerment and self-care—reminding fans that feeling confident is timeless.
