In 2023, Kelly posted a fresh-faced picture on Instagram during a vacation in Saint Tropez, captioning it with, “Good morning from Saint Tropez!” The image shows her sipping coffee on a terrace, dressed in a white robe, with her shoulder-length hair styled in beachy waves. Fans took notice of her youthful appearance, with some drawing comparisons between Kelly and the late actress Grace Kelly.
The picture recalled a similar moment nearly a decade ago, in 2014, when Kelly posted a makeup-free selfie on Facebook, calling it “The natural me.” The post received overwhelming praise, with fans commenting on her natural beauty and comparing her to the iconic Hollywood star. One admirer wrote, “Oh my gosh, you’re prettier without makeup. Wow!!! Something Grace Kelly-ish about you. Kelly has also been outspoken about her views on cosmetic surgery, particularly on her podcast The Megyn Kelly Show. During a January episode with Michael Knowles of The Daily Wire, Kelly criticized the obsession with cosmetic enhancements, calling it a “social illness.” She singled out actress Erin Moriarty from The Boys, accusing her of setting a negative example for younger generations. Kelly referred to Moriarty’s cosmetic surgery choices as a “mental illness” and warned young women against altering their appearance to fit a false ideal. “It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery,” Kelly explained, “it’s about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself.”
Kelly’s comments sparked controversy, especially after she shared a comparison of Moriarty’s appearance before and after cosmetic procedures. Moriarty quickly responded on Instagram, accusing Kelly of misrepresenting her by using an outdated photo and criticizing her approach. “Megyn used a photo taken a year ago, which in reality was a decade-old image,” Moriarty wrote. She clarified that the “after” photo was the result of makeup and contouring, not surgical enhancement. Moriarty concluded her post by labeling Kelly a “bully” and calling her show “disgustedly false.”
Despite the backlash, Kelly remains steadfast in her stance, advocating for a more natural approach to beauty and encouraging young women to embrace their authentic selves.
