Radio presenter and DJ Dean McCullough, who gained prominence with a coveted slot on BBC Radio One, recently took to social media to share his journey with a hair transplant. Ahead of his participation in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, the 32-year-old decided to undergo the procedure to boost his confidence and address concerns over his hairline.
In an Instagram post earlier this year, McCullough invited fans into the clinic, showing the step-by-step process of the hair transplant. The procedure involves relocating hair from a fuller area of the scalp to areas experiencing thinning or baldness. Prior to the surgery, McCullough expressed his excitement, stating, “I can’t wait to have my confidence back, to wear my hair the way I want to and not hide my hairline anymore.”
After the transplant, McCullough proudly showcased his new hairline, telling fans, “I’m absolutely blown away” by the results. His openness about the cosmetic procedure was met with support from his followers, with many commenting their encouragement and admiration.
However, McCullough’s I’m A Celebrity journey was short-lived. In the latest episode, he became the second contestant to be eliminated from the Australian jungle. The announcement, made by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, came after a public vote between McCullough and Irish boxer Barry McGuigan. McCullough, who had participated in multiple grueling trials, was upbeat about his exit, telling the hosts, “I’m going home, I need my underwear, I’ll see you later!”
Despite being voted out, McCullough expressed no disappointment, saying he had thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hosts later addressed his multiple outbursts of “I’m A Celebrity, get me out of here!” during the trials, explaining that the tough-love approach was designed to push him to complete the tasks.
McCullough’s departure comes just days after Jane Moore was the first evictee. Sources close to the BBC previously suggested McCullough’s exit from the radio station’s daytime slot was due to workplace tensions, with some staff reportedly unwilling to continue working with him. The situation was described as “chaotic” by insiders, leading to changes in presenters and production team roles.
As McCullough continues to share his journey with fans, his time in the jungle may be over, but his candid reflections on personal and professional changes are likely to remain in the spotlight.
