In a significant move to improve healthcare accessibility in rural and remote areas, District Magistrate Savin Bansal launched the first state-of-the-art Mobile Eye Clinic, a collaborative initiative by the Shri Om Foundation Public Trust and Rahi Netra Dham, Dehradun’s Super Speciality Eye Hospital. The clinic was flagged off on last Saturday from the Mussoorie Diversion Road, Rajpur Road.
Bansal hailed the Mobile Eye Clinic as a groundbreaking step towards ensuring quality eye care services reach underserved populations. “This initiative is an excellent example of how healthcare can be brought closer to the people, especially in rural areas,” he said. The District Magistrate highlighted that the mobile clinic has the potential to save the eyesight of thousands across the state.
While acknowledging the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, Bansal emphasized the crucial role of social organizations in extending such services to remote regions. He noted that initiatives like the Mobile Eye Clinic will not only facilitate health screenings but also raise awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups.
Bansal urged other NGOs and social organizations to follow suit and dedicate their efforts to similar causes, fostering the well-being of communities throughout Uttarakhand.
