Denise Richards, a new addition to the cast of Season 3 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, recently revealed a shocking incident that occurred while filming the reality series—an emergency involving her breast implants. The star opened up about the mishap, leaving fans concerned and curious about her condition.
A Risky Challenge Turns Into a Medical Emergency
Richards, known for her roles in Starship Troopers, James Bond, and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH), is no stranger to tough situations. However, she admits she underestimated the physical demands of the Special Forces experience. The challenges are notorious for being grueling, and despite her extensive film experience, Richards quickly learned that there are no stunt doubles in the world of Special Forces—everything is real, and the cast is pushed to their physical limits.
Richards explained that her family had reservations about her participation, expressing concerns over her safety given the brutal nature of the show. “They were really scared,” Richards confessed, adding that she was determined to face the challenges head-on. Little did she know that her commitment would lead to a serious injury.
The Incident: How It Happened
While participating in a particularly intense segment, Richards suffered an unexpected medical emergency. The actress detailed the accident during an appearance on Jeff Lewis Live, where she shared how she ruptured her breast implants. Richards explained that the injury occurred while jumping off a bridge during a specific challenge. She was wearing a harness at the time, which contributed to the incident. “That’s when I ruptured my implants,” she recalled. Unfortunately, she has yet to undergo corrective surgery to address the damage.
Upcoming Surgery and Financial Responsibility
Richards revealed that she had planned to get her implants fixed a month ago but had to delay the procedure due to her commitments to filming the series. While she intends to have the surgery soon, she was quick to highlight a surprising aspect of the situation—she will be financially responsible for the repairs. Despite the injury happening during filming, she stated that insurance will not cover the costs.
“I have to pay. I think we pretty much signed our life away doing that show… It’s dangerous,” Richards said, reflecting on the risks involved in the show. Her husband, Aaron Phypers, added that perhaps FOX should take responsibility for such incidents, given the nature of the challenges participants face.
