Han Ga-in, a renowned South Korean actress, recently shared her experience of receiving her first-ever plastic surgery estimate, an event that left her feeling shocked and reflective. (Shock Result)” was released on Lady Liberty’s Hangarin channel, offering fans an inside look at the actress’s visit to multiple plastic surgery clinics.
In the video, Han Ga-in explained that although she frequently visits dermatologists, this marked her first time stepping into a plastic surgery clinic. “I wonder what I should fix to look prettier on the screen,” she confessed. As she visited three different clinics in the upscale Gangnam district, she questioned whether subtle changes could improve her appearance for her acting roles.
During the consultation at the first clinic, the cosmetic specialist informed Han Ga-in that her face was already in great condition. However, they suggested some minor tweaks. The doctor noted that her skin had begun to droop slightly over time, which could be addressed with an eyelid lift or fat relocation around the eyes to enhance her overall appearance. While the idea of surgery was foreign to Han Ga-in, she hesitated, concerned about losing her distinctive look. When asked for an estimate, the specialist quoted a range of 2 to 3 million Korean won, advising that there was no immediate need for surgery if she felt comfortable with her current appearance.
At her second consultation, Han Ga-in was amused by the high-tech 3D equipment used to analyze her face. The specialist, who was impressed by her features, mentioned that although Han Ga-in had a masculine jawline, her face was exceptionally beautiful. However, they suggested contouring to soften the jaw and reduce the deep cheek fat that had become more prominent as she lost weight. They also mentioned the possibility of adjusting her nose, which was slightly asymmetrical, by modifying the inner bones and refining the bridge. The estimated cost for these procedures totaled between 25 to 35 million Korean won.
While taken aback by the high costs, Han Ga-in responded with a sense of humor. “Isn’t it worth a car in the face?” she joked, admitting that the prospect of addressing her perceived imperfections was tempting.
The third consultation left Han Ga-in feeling more introspective. The specialist recommended additional treatments such as adjusting her hairline, reducing under-eye fat, and contouring her face. The estimated cost for these procedures was 16 million Korean won. However, the specialist assured her that, given her natural beauty, there was no immediate need for any changes. “You’re a beauty that’s hard to find in Korea,” they said, suggesting that any potential surgery could be postponed until she felt it was necessary.
Reflecting on her consultations, Han Ga-in admitted that the experience had significantly impacted her self-esteem. “I lost my self-esteem,” she confessed, expressing how the high price tags and focus on her imperfections had made her question her natural beauty. Ultimately, Han Ga-in reaffirmed her belief in aging gracefully without resorting to surgery. “There’s a belief that naturalness will be beautiful. I want to show you healthy and natural aging, and I will give up plastic surgery,” she concluded, embracing her decision to remain true to herself.
