Miley Cyrus has gone from Disney darling to full-fledged rock star, and many of her fans feel they’ve grown up with her. Over time, the ‘Flowers’ hitmaker’s appearance has undergone a physical transformation, leading to speculation that she’s had plastic surgery.
Last week, the Jaded singer, 30, shared photos of herself sporting a new hair colour – a return to her natural brunette locks after ten years. While some fans applauded her new look, others questioned whether she had undergone cosmetic surgery due to perceived differences in her facial appearance. This has led many to compare Cyrus’ current look with previous photos from 2013.
Miley Cyrus’ beauty evolution from 2013 to 2023
Over the past decade, Cyrus has experimented with different lengths and highlight colours, but has always kept her hair blonde. As seen in her Instagram post to her 215 million followers on September 24, she just went back to her roots with her natural hair colour. Many fans praised her “gorgeous” new ‘do and timeless beauty, and other commenters began to speculate if any “differences” in her facial appearance were due to her possibly going under the knife.
“What happened to your face?!!” one wrote, while another added that her face looked “stuck”. Someone else replied: “omg what happened to your lips”, while another commented: “Has anyone else noticed Miley’s face change?” While Cyrus has not addressed these latest plastic surgery rumours, she has shot down claims she had lip injections and breast augmentation over a decade ago.
In December 2011, the Last Song actress responded to a fan’s account on Twitter, insisting she had never had plastic surgery on her breasts. “Thanks for the compliment, but these babies are all mine. I wish they would realise you don’t have to be fake to be beautiful,” she wrote.
A year later, Cyrus also took to Twitter to set the record straight when it came to rumours of lip injections. “I definitely don’t get lip injections,” she wrote in August 2012. “It’s so sad that people have done so much s-t to their faces that people don’t believe in natural beauty,” she continued.
It’s no secret that Cyrus’ fans have admired her glowing, smooth skin over the years. In 2022, the Used To Be Young star sat down with Elle and opened up about her skincare journey. “I finally realised that something that works for someone else might not work for me, so I went to a dermatologist and learned that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to skincare. I basically have it down to a science these days,” she revealed.
Despite rumours of plastic surgery, Cyrus insisted that looking after her mental wellbeing was the key to achieving clear skin. She added: “Taking care of yourself from the inside out is so important. Your beauty routine is a form of self-love because it means you’re taking time out of your day to take care of yourself, mentally and physically.
