Comedian Nikki Glaser stole the spotlight at Netflix’s Tom Brady roast, delivering scathing jokes about the NFL star’s personal life, including his divorce from Gisele Bündchen and rumored romance with Jiu-Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. However, Glaser revealed that she had to trim some punchlines from her set during a post-roast interview on “The Howard Stern Show.”
One of the jokes Glaser omitted focused on Brady’s alleged plastic surgery, teasing, “Tom, I love your work — that you’ve done on your face. Seriously, slow down. What is happening with your cheeks? You look like a Ken doll that was microwaved. You love deflating things, so stop.”
Glaser also intended to make a quip about CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), a condition prevalent among NFL players due to repeated concussions, but ultimately decided against it. She joked, “It’s really cool all the proceeds are going to CTE research and the NFL’s coordinated effort to cover it up. People don’t know, but it costs millions to murder those doctors that know the truth. These guys really damage their bodies and brains all for the sake of men hugging each other in a Buffalo Wild Wings.”
The Tom Brady roast, part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest, featured the former quarterback receiving humorous jabs from top comedians, including Kevin Hart, Jeff Ross, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Drew Bledsoe, among others.
Glaser’s set garnered widespread praise on social media, with one of her aired jokes poking fun at Brady’s divorce: “Tom Brady. Five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns. You have seven rings — well, eight, now that Gisele gave hers back. The only thing dumber than saying yes to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.'”
Despite the uproar, one joke made by Jeff Ross referencing Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s 2019 arrest seemed to irk Brady, prompting him to stand up and address Ross directly. Ross later clarified that Brady’s reaction was in good spirits and emphasized Kraft’s positive response to the joke.
The three-hour Tom Brady roast is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
