Kerry Katona, the 43-year-old media personality, recently underwent a nose job to repair damage from years of drug abuse. However, her recovery brought startling news from her doctors regarding her health.
During her post-operative check-up, Kerry was informed that she has advanced calcified bones, a condition where calcium salts accumulate in body tissues. This discovery surprised her surgeon, Dr. Raghavan, who remarked on the unusual nature of such advanced calcification at her age.
In her OK! column, Kerry recounted her initial fear upon hearing the term ‘advanced stage,’ fearing a serious diagnosis like cancer. Fortunately, it was determined that her condition requires pain management rather than intensive treatment.
Kerry has been candid about her past struggles with cocaine addiction, describing it as her “only friend” during difficult times. Despite starting drugs at age 14 and battling bipolar disorder, she hasn’t used cocaine in 15 years, as she revealed in a recent podcast interview.
Reflecting on her turbulent past, Kerry spoke about her dependency on drugs and her experiences with rehab, which she found ineffective in combating her cocaine use. She also discussed her bipolar diagnosis, highlighting the lack of awareness around mental health issues during her youth.
Additionally, Kerry addressed her extensive history of cosmetic surgeries, including multiple procedures on her nose and other areas of her body. Her recent blepharoplasty to remove excess eyelid skin garnered attention, although she admitted her children were apprehensive about her undergoing surgery.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Kerry remains resilient, focusing on her recovery and family life with her five children.
