Clinics, has abruptly ceased trading, leaving customers and staff in uncertainty. The Birmingham-based company, which boasted a vast network of over 70 branches nationwide, including prominent brands like the Harley Medical Group and Skinbrands, announced its closure on Tuesday, July 17.
Established in 1990, SK Clinics offered a wide range of specialized skincare treatments across major cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, and London, encompassing services from tattoo removal to advanced cosmetic procedures like thread lifts. The company employed over 450 medical professionals including consultants, doctors, nurses, and practitioners throughout England and Scotland.
The closure came without prior notice to clients, many of whom had appointments abruptly canceled on Wednesday. SK ‘s website and social media accounts were swiftly deactivated, with a message explaining the unsuccessful efforts to secure necessary investments to sustain operations.
“We recognize this outcome will have a significant impact on our team members and our customers, and we are deeply sorry for the stress and inconvenience this has caused,” stated the company’s website. Efforts are underway to address concerns, including contacting clients awaiting test results and providing updates as they become available.
One affected customer, who preferred anonymity, expressed frustration over the sudden cancellation of their appointments and uncertainty about refunds for prepaid services totaling approximately £700.
Kendrick, the company’s PR agency, acknowledged the widespread confusion among both press and patients, emphasizing their lack of information regarding the management of patient appointments, payments, and other related issues.
SK Clinics has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the situation. The closure marks a significant development in the UK’s healthcare landscape, affecting thousands who relied on the company’s services for their skincare and cosmetic needs.
