Actress Ayesha Takia has reportedly deleted her Instagram account following a surge of negative comments about her appearance. The backlash began after Takia posted a photo of herself in blue ethnic attire, accessorized with heavy jewelry. Social media users criticized her for allegedly undergoing plastic surgery, with some suggesting she appeared unrecognizable.
One fan commented, “Why did you destroy your face and natural beauty?” while another wrote, “What have you done to yourself?” A third user remarked, “You look nice, but natural beauty is always perfect.” The volume of disparaging remarks appears to have prompted Takia to remove her Instagram profile.
This incident follows a similar controversy earlier in February, when Takia was criticized for her appearance at the airport. In response, she issued a statement addressing the obsession with her looks and expressing frustration with the public’s focus on her appearance rather than more pressing national issues. Takia stated, “It seems there are no other important issues in the country besides dissecting my looks. I am bombarded with viral opinions about how people think I should look. I have no interest in making a film comeback or being in the limelight. Please move on and find better things to do with your time.”
Takia emphasized that she is content living a private life and has no intention of returning to the film industry.
