New York socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, widely known as “Catwoman” for her distinctive feline features, recently offered a rare look into her pre-surgery life. The 82-year-old posted a nostalgic photo on Instagram celebrating her daughter Diane’s birthday on August 25. The image, featuring a younger Wildenstein holding her infant daughter with maternal pride, provided a glimpse into her life before her extensive cosmetic transformations.
Wildenstein’s transformation and subsequent public fascination began after her highly publicized divorce from billionaire art dealer Alec Wildenstein in 1997. This divorce not only thrust her into the media spotlight but also earned her the moniker “Catwoman” due to her striking appearance, which she attributes partly to her own natural features.
In past, Wildenstein has shared that her surgeries were influenced by Alec’s aversion to aging. “He hates to be with old people,” she claimed, revealing that her attempts to retain a youthful look were partly to meet her ex-husband’s standards.
Despite the transformations, Wildenstein has insisted that some of her feline attributes are inherited rather than surgically altered. She has often embraced this unique look, incorporating animal prints into her wardrobe and even keeping a lynx as a pet.
Alec Wildenstein, however, had a different view, describing her fixation on altering her appearance as “crazy” and likening her efforts to fixing a piece of furniture.
The couple’s divorce, marked by dramatic allegations and a substantial settlement, concluded in 1999. Jocelyn was awarded $2.5 billion and an additional $100 million annually for 13 years, although a judge reportedly prohibited her from using the settlement funds for further cosmetic surgeries.
