Tamra Judge, star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, is using humor to cope with her brow lift surgery recovery. On Monday, September 2, Judge shared a light-hearted update on social media about her mother Sandy’s reaction to her post-surgery appearance.
Judge, 57, has been documenting her recovery journey on Instagram and X, where she posted photos and videos showcasing the swelling and after-effects of her procedure. In one of her recent updates, Judge shared a screenshot of a text exchange with her mother, who humorously expressed shock at her appearance.
In the message, Sandy wrote, “Your face literally makes me want to throw up. It looks so painful and you don’t look like yourself.” She also joked that a friend had asked if Judge had been in a motorcycle accident due to her appearance.
Judge captioned the screenshot with, “Thanks, Mom,” and shared more of the amusing exchange. Sandy’s messages continued with, “She thought you fell off your motorcycle,” prompting Judge to respond with, “Feels like a motorcycle accident.”
The reality TV star further discussed her mother’s messages in a video on X, laughing about the situation and noting, “I literally can’t stop laughing about my mom’s text message to me. You guys know where I get my empathy from, right?”
Judge also updated her followers on her recovery, revealing that she had only taken one pain pill that day and was feeling better. “Just a little crispy — little crispy ‘round the edges,” she said.
Celebrating her 57th birthday on the same day, Judge described the day as the most challenging of her recovery. She mentioned that her husband, Eddie Judge, was trying to pick up a prescribed steroid pack, but the pharmacy was closed. Despite the discomfort, she reported feeling a bit better and was able to turn on the TV after previously being sensitive to noise.
Judge initially shared her post-surgery experience on August 31, posting a video of herself with bandages around her face and expressing her readiness for healing. She thanked the doctors who performed the procedure, including Dr. Donald Mowlds and Dr. Ambe, and explained that she had opted for a brow lift, CO2 laser, and a blue chemical peel, noting that it was a continuation of a previous facelift she had seven years ago.
