Dr. Refaat Karim Joins the Team
HCB Dénia has announced the arrival of Dr. Refaat Karim, an internationally recognized expert in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. He will lead the newly revamped Plastic Surgery Service at the hospital.
Extensive Experience in the Field
Dr. Karim brings years of experience from prestigious medical institutions in both Spain and the Netherlands. He has worked in several Dutch hospitals, including Slotervaart Hospital, OLVG, and VUmc at the Amsterdam University Medical Centre. Dr. Karim started his career as a plastic surgeon and earned his doctorate for his research on vaginoplasty in transsexual individuals. He is also known as a leading authority on reconstruction after female genital mutilation (FGM).
Currently, Dr. Karim works at Alfaz Medical Centre, where he performs minor plastic surgeries, including dermato-oncologic surgery, hand surgery, and eyelid procedures. He will balance his role at Alfaz with his new responsibilities at HCB Dénia.

Dr. Karim is known for his precision and high standards. In addition to popular plastic surgery procedures, he specializes in surgeries related to the male and female sexual organs, hand surgery, and skin cancer.

This way, residents will no longer need to travel to Valencia or Alicante for simple plastic surgeries or complex reconstructions.”
