Gypsy-Rose Blanchard recently shared insights into her rhinoplasty journey on the podcast Going Deeper with Gypsy-Rose Blanchard and Ken, which aired on Wednesday, October 16. The 33-year-old Blanchard first announced her intention to undergo the cosmetic procedure in an interview, revealing her newly refined nose later that month.
During the podcast, Blanchard opened up about her feelings surrounding the surgery, admitting that she experienced “a little bit” of anxiety related to past trauma. However, she clarified that her anxiousness was “not as much as people might think” because the decision to have surgery was entirely her own.
“This is something that I had been wanting for a long time,” Blanchard explained. “I had been teased about my nose forever, and social media just made that even worse. I was called ‘the nose’ and subjected to all kinds of name-calling. Having the surgery was essential for boosting my self-confidence and becoming the woman I want to be.”
Blanchard emphasized that her choice was not about seeking drastic changes. “I just wanted the bump to be gone, and my surgeon did an amazing job,” she remarked, expressing satisfaction with the outcome.
Her partner, Ken Urker, who is expecting their first child together, also weighed in during the podcast. He assured listeners that Blanchard’s surgery did not alter his feelings for her. “When I fell in love with her, she had her long brown hair and her previous nose. That didn’t change the way I feel about her at all,” Urker said.
Urker expressed his support for Blanchard’s decision, noting that she had desired the procedure since they first met. “I was very supportive. I was like, ‘Well, now you can finally go do what you want.’ And if it makes you happier, then, of course, I support you,” he concluded.
In a lighthearted moment, the couple discussed their history of teasing one another about their noses, with Blanchard joking about the possibility of their daughter inheriting “a strong nose.” “You can have the surgery, but the genetics are still there,” she noted with a laugh.
