Eva Mendes, known for her candid approach to beauty, has opened up about her experiences with cosmetic treatments, including her thoughts on Botox and plastic surgery. On October 20, Mendes, 50, shared her perspective on cosmetic enhancements and the occasional regrets that come with them.
“I’m not afraid to try things that are safe, because most of these little treatments, let’s say, are reversible,” Mendes explained, highlighting her practical approach to beauty. She acknowledged, however, that not every procedure has been a success. “If you get Botox, it goes away if you don’t like it,” she said. “There have been times where I’ve regretted something … and then you just wait it out.”
Despite any regrets, Mendes noted that much of her confidence is tied to the way her long-term partner, actor Ryan Gosling, views her. Mendes and Gosling, 43, have been together since 2012 and share two daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7. Reflecting on their relationship, Mendes admitted, “The way my man looks at me is just … at times I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’” She added, “That might not sit well with people, but so much of how I feel is a reflection of what he’s giving me.”
Mendes continued by explaining her self-perception, saying, “I’ve never considered myself beautiful, but I’ve always felt very sexy.” She expressed gratitude for feeling confident more often than not, attributing much of that to the support she receives from Gosling.
The actress has been open about her cosmetic journey over the years. In 2020, Mendes posted a selfie from a procedure with Dr. Mariana Vergara Hofstetter, showcasing a treatment called Mono-Threads, designed to lift sagging skin and boost collagen production. Sharing the moment on Instagram, she wrote, “This spa-home away from home is incredible! No office with bad fluorescent lighting. No sterile office vibe.”
Mendes has always been direct about embracing aging. In response to a social media comment from a user who suggested she looked “old,” she responded with grace and positivity. “Yes, you’re right. Thank God I’m getting old. That means I’m still here,” she replied. “I’m gonna be 46 soon and grateful every day that I’m aging.”
Mendes continues to approach beauty and aging with confidence, humor, and a clear sense of self, inspiring others to do the same.
