Shanna Moakler, 49, recently documented her journey of repairing torn earlobes in a video shared on Instagram. The former beauty queen revealed that her decision to seek treatment stemmed from years of wearing heavy earrings, which she believes caused the damage. Dr. Justin Perez, a plastic surgeon, confirmed that the weight of the earrings was indeed the source of the issue.
In the video, Moakler maintained an upbeat demeanor as she explained that the repair procedure took only 15 to 20 minutes for each ear. She mentioned that she would return to have the sutures removed in about a week and planned to have her ears re-pierced in three months. In her caption, Moakler highlighted that the procedure was quick, painless, and a necessary step for anyone who has worn heavy earrings or gauges. She also praised Dr. Perez for his expertise throughout the process.
This cosmetic procedure comes on the heels of Moakler’s recent revelation that she has been using the weight-loss drug Mounjaro to help her shed pounds. She admitted that following the loss of her parents in 2023, she began eating more, prompting her weight management efforts.
In addition to her personal updates, Moakler has expressed frustration with media narratives that continually link her to her ex-husband, Travis Barker, who is now married to Kourtney Kardashian. She emphasized that she is more than just the ex-wife of famous men, asserting that she has worked diligently to build her own success and remains indifferent to public opinions about her past relationships.
