In a world where beauty standards often dictate how women should look, many feel pressured to conform to ideals such as an hourglass figure and flawless skin. To meet these expectations and enhance their self-image, some women opt for cosmetic procedures like Botox and fillers. This trend, particularly among celebrities, frequently invites public scrutiny and mixed reactions.
Neelam Kothari, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, recently discussed her experience with cosmetic enhancements on the show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. She highlighted the duality of reactions she received after openly admitting to using fillers and Botox.
In an exclusive interview with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, Kothari recounted the backlash and support she faced following her decision to showcase her cosmetic procedures on camera. “In Season 1, I informed the creative team that since I was appearing on screen after 25 years, I would be getting Botox and fillers. I asked if they wanted to capture that journey,” she explained. Kothari noted that while some viewers praised her bravery, others resorted to online trolling, labeling her as “Botox aunty.”
She reflected on the impossibility of pleasing everyone, stating, “You can’t keep everyone happy. I did it for myself; I’m not saying you should go out and do it. You do it for yourself to look good.”
Currently, Neelam Kothari continues to engage audiences with her presence in Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives Season 3, navigating both the acclaim and criticism that come with her choices in the public eye.
