Jessel Taank, a cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY), has publicly addressed speculation surrounding her appearance in the wake of the show’s recent seasons. In an exclusive interview, Taank, 45, vehemently denied having undergone plastic surgery or using the diabetes medication Ozempic, stating, “I actually f—ing hate Ozempic. I would never put needles in myself.”
Taank emphasized the common assumptions made about reality TV personalities, explaining, “It’s so natural to be like, ‘Oh, she got plastic surgery or she did this or she’s on Ozempic.’” She suggested that criticism often arises in response to individuals who undergo noticeable transformations, whether physical or otherwise. “I think it’s just the natural reaction to people who make positive change,” she added.
The fashion publicist also discussed the challenges of facing online negativity. “Social media and that sort of wave of overwhelming feedback can be quite harsh at times,” Taank noted. However, she has learned to cope with the backlash, finding humor in the absurdity of some comments. “Now, I actually just laugh at the comments… I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry that you’re so sad,’” she remarked.
As one of the new cast members introduced in the Bravo reboot of RHONY for season 14, Taank, along with co-stars Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Sai de Silva, Brynn Whitfield, and Jenna Lyons, returned for the current season, which is airing now. Many fans have praised Taank for her authenticity and comedic presence. “I think it’s because I’m funny and who doesn’t want someone who’s funny?” she said, also highlighting her fashion sense. “By the way, I bring the looks. Funny and fashion has always been my thing.”
This season, Taank is joined by art curator Racquel Chevremont and fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, whom she described as a “dear friend” and “a good person.”
