Jessica Alves, the 41-year-old TV personality, has issued a cautionary message following her experience of dissolving facial fillers, which resulted in significant excess skin around her cheeks. Alves revealed that the procedure left her with four inches of “rubbery” skin that could easily be pinched away.
After investing over £1 million in more than 100 cosmetic procedures, Alves traveled to Turkey to have her fillers dissolved, hoping to achieve a more natural look. However, the aftermath of the procedure forced her to undergo a ponytail facelift, a minimally invasive surgery that costs £12,000, to address the unexpected consequences of her choice.
“If I pinched myself, three or four inches would come off in my hand. It was very elastic, like rubber,” Alves explained to MailOnline. “The doctor was able to remove five inches of my skin.”
In her warning to younger generations, Alves emphasized that the dissolution of fillers does not prevent aging and can, in fact, make individuals look older. She believes that the use of hyaluronic acid fillers, which many women began using two decades ago, can lead to a round, puffy appearance over time.
“Most of us women who started doing fillers on the face 20 years ago are all dissolving it now,” she noted. “These facial fillers do not make us look younger; they actually make us look older. They deform our faces.”
Alves disclosed that she sought the help of a plastic surgeon in Turkey to dissolve her fillers and later had to undergo a ponytail facelift, which tightens the skin in the face and neck using staples in the hairline. Despite the challenges, she expressed satisfaction with the results achieved by Cagda Orman at Trio Surgery and stated she does not plan to undergo any more cosmetic procedures.
Earlier this year, Alves had already traveled to Turkey for a £15,000 facelift, neck lift, and lip enhancement. She spends upwards of £10,000 each month on Botox, fillers, and various beauty treatments in her quest to maintain a youthful appearance.
“I find myself at a different clinic in London every week, exploring the latest therapies to improve my skin and delay the aging process,” she shared. “While these procedures have some effect, they aren’t permanent.”
Alves’ experience serves as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of cosmetic procedures and the ongoing debate about their long-term effects on appearance.
