On November 5, the popular Japanese music group Number_i was officially unveiled as the new global brand muses for SEKKISEI, a leading skincare brand. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Tokyo, where members Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi expressed their excitement about the role. Dressed in sleek white suits, the trio shared their enthusiasm for representing the brand, with Hirano stating, “We hope many people will discover SEKKISEI’s magic and feel the same excitement we do.”
This collaboration coincides with SEKKISEI’s 40th anniversary, marking four decades of the brand’s success in Japan and abroad. Over the years, the role of global muse has been held by prominent figures such as actress Yui Aragaki, Olympic gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu, and MLB star Shohei Ohtani. With Number_i’s appointment, SEKKISEI has made history by selecting an artist group for the first time, emphasizing the brand’s innovative approach as it seeks to expand its international reach.
The group’s debut commercial, “i Bright. – Forward-Facing Radiance,” is aired nationwide starting November 7. Featuring their song “iLY” from their latest album NO.I, the ad captures the members’ unique take on radiance and positivity. During the press event, each member shared their personal moments of feeling their “brightest.” Jinguji mentioned the joy of presenting a finished project to their fans, while Hirano spoke about the thrill of completing a self-produced song. Kishi, known for his sense of humor, quipped that he feels his best “during workouts,” despite recently taking a break from the gym.
As Number_i continues to gain global recognition, highlighted by their recent performance at California’s prestigious Coachella Festival, the group expressed pride in representing Japanese skincare to an international audience. “We want to showcase the quality of Japanese skincare to the world,” Jinguji explained. Hirano added, “Together with SEKKISEI, I hope to achieve that ideal radiance.”
SEKKISEI’s partnership with Number_i marks an exciting new chapter for both the brand and the group, blending music, skincare, and global influence in celebration of a milestone anniversary.
