Grammy-winning artist SZA has opened up about her experience with cosmetic surgery, expressing regret over her decision to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). Speaking candidly in a recent interview, the R&B sensation admitted that the procedure, which she turned to after being dissatisfied with her fitness results, ultimately felt unnecessary.
“I’m so mad I did that s–t,” the “Weekend” singer confessed. “I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid.” SZA also revealed that she had breast implants removed, further emphasizing her changing perspective on body modifications.
Still, SZA acknowledged a sense of acceptance and autonomy over her choices. “But who gives a f–k?” she added. “You get a BBL, you realize you didn’t need the s–t. It doesn’t matter. I’ll do a whole bunch more s–t just like it if I want to before I’m f–king dead because this body is temporary. It just wasn’t super necessary.”
She noted her satisfaction with the results of the procedure, despite her regrets. “I love my butt, don’t get me wrong,” she said. “My booty looks nice. And I’m grateful that it looks pretty much… I don’t know, sometimes natural, but I don’t even care. It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it.”
Now, the star is shifting her focus toward mental health and overall wellness. “I have other s–t that I need to work on about myself,” she explained. “I need to get my f–king mental health together. Not to say you can’t do those things simultaneously, just, for me, I realize wherever you go, there you’ll be.”
SZA previously addressed her BBL in a 2023 interview, detailing her motivations behind the procedure. “I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, ‘No, I need some more a–,'” she said. She likened her butt to an accessory, saying, “I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else. And that’s why I paid for it, because it works all by itself.”
Despite her reflections on past decisions, SZA is now embracing self-improvement and prioritizing her well-being over societal expectations of beauty.
