Meghan Trainor has candidly admitted that she went too far with Botox but has plans for further cosmetic procedures in the future. Speaking on the “Workin’ On It with Meghan Trainor & Ryan Trainor” podcast last month, the 30-year-old singer revealed that she “got too much Botox” and now needs assistance.
Trainor explained that she was convinced by someone to try a “lip flip,” a nonsurgical procedure that uses Botox to make the upper lip appear fuller. However, after undergoing the procedure, she found it didn’t deliver the desired result. “Someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip. And I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living — it was not true,” she said. Prior to that, Trainor had received Botox injections on her forehead several times.
The procedure had unintended consequences, leaving Trainor unable to smile fully. “I cannot smile anymore,” she lamented, demonstrating the limited range of her expression. Her brother, Ryan Trainor, teased her about the situation, but Meghan confessed that now, “I can’t unsee it.” She added, “Everywhere I go, I cannot smile. My face hurts to smile, to even try.”
The “lip flip” works by relaxing the muscles around the upper lip, making it appear fuller and more lifted. However, as Trainor found, it also impacted her ability to express herself naturally. Her brother, showing support, reminded her that their family has always been praised for their beautiful smiles and that no adjustments were needed.
Reflecting on her experience, Trainor shared a valuable lesson. “It taught me my smile does light up a room, and when it’s not there, it’s a dim light,” she said. “I feel like I’m not happy because I can’t smile.”
In addition to her Botox experience, Trainor also revealed that she had lip filler, which she was happy with. Despite her temporary struggles with the “lip flip,” she still plans to undergo further procedures in the future, including a breast lift.
The “All About That Bass” singer shared that after having two children with her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, her breast size fluctuated significantly. “I’ve lost some weight and I have sags on, just like saggy sacks as boobs,” she admitted. This experience has reignited her long-standing desire for a breast lift, which she has wanted since her teenage years.
“I’m going to have boobies that don’t look at the floor,” Trainor said with humor, clarifying that her goal wasn’t to increase size dramatically but simply to restore shape with a lift. “Maybe a little implant just so they’re like, ‘We are boobs,’ because right now, they are not,” she joked, adding, “But I love them, love my body, and I’ve been wanting this for years.”
Despite the challenges with her cosmetic treatments, Trainor remains confident in her body and looks forward to making adjustments that will boost her self-esteem.
