Australian pole vault champion Nina Kennedy may be known for her strength and athleticism, but when it comes to her daily training regimen, one crucial item stands out: sunscreen. While gym sessions and intense workouts are key components of her preparation, Kennedy swears by Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer sunscreen for essential skin protection during outdoor training.
“I genuinely put on face sunscreen every single morning, regardless of whether I’m indoors or not,” Kennedy told POPSUGAR Australia. Her sunscreen of choice, Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Face Lotion, offers broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays, shielding the skin from premature aging and sunburn without a greasy residue.
“I’m training outside all the time, so before I leave the house, it’s lathering up on moisturizer and sunscreen, then heading to the track,” Kennedy said. Her routine doesn’t stop there. To ensure continuous protection during long training sessions, Kennedy re-applies sunscreen every two hours, especially during intense heat.
Kennedy’s commitment to skin care extends beyond training. She also enjoys spending time outdoors on her days off, emphasizing the importance of balancing mental and physical health. “It gets me out of the city, out of the hustle and bustle, and it’s perfect for my mental health,” she shared, highlighting the value of nature walks for relaxation.
With a gold medal in hand from the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Kennedy attributes much of her success to maintaining this balance. “The best feeling ever!” she said of her Olympic victory. While few may achieve Olympic gold, taking care of our skin, as Kennedy advises, is something everyone can do.
Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer sunscreen range, available in fluid, lotions, and spray, offers protection for all, helping to keep skin shielded during any activity.
