Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham has taken to Yelp to express her dissatisfaction with a recent cosmetic procedure, accusing a medical spa of unprofessionalism and neglect. Abraham, known for her candid and often controversial reviews, visited Veritas Backstage medical spa to have a dissolver injected into her face. The treatment was intended to remove previous Botox or filler, but Abraham claims it was unevenly administered, leaving her face lopsided.
In her heated Yelp review, Abraham alleged negligence and misconduct, writing, “No one should pay and waste months being a research project. After the injector Devon/owner refused to properly equal both sides of my face… my face [was] abused, time wasted, and my nerves [were] affected.” She further criticized the spa owner for “gaslighting” her and described the practice as “narcissistic” and “very abusive.” Abraham also shared photos purportedly showing one side of her face dissolved while the other remained puffy.
The review raised questions about the procedure, as Abraham did not clarify whether the asymmetry was part of a planned treatment approach or the result of negligence. Instead, she maintained that the staff mishandled her care, accusing them of purposefully dragging out the process.
Spa Owner Defends Professional Conduct
Responding to Abraham’s allegations, the spa owner defended the decision to cease treating her. In a statement replying to her Yelp review, the owner wrote, “We made the professional decision to discontinue our provider-patient relationship due to the repeated insistence on treatments that did not align with our medical advice. Our commitment to safe and balanced care sometimes necessitates recommending against specific procedures and turning patients away if their requests could compromise their well-being.”
Abraham, who has a history of harsh Yelp reviews, has rarely praised businesses in her posts. A significant number of her past reviews have been one-star critiques, making this latest complaint consistent with her pattern of voicing dissatisfaction publicly.
The controversy underscores the challenges medical spas face in balancing patient expectations with ethical medical practice. Veritas Backstage’s handling of the situation highlights their adherence to professional standards, even in the face of public criticism.
