Kaitlyn Bristowe is documenting her recovery after undergoing blepharoplasty, a cosmetic procedure aimed at rejuvenating the eyelids. The 39-year-old former Bachelorette star shared a series of updates on Instagram over the weekend, offering a humorous glimpse into her post-surgery experience.
In the photos, Bristowe humorously referenced a famous line from The Devil Wears Prada, captioning a selfie with red eyelids: “Don’t be ridiculous Andrea, everyone wants to look like this.” The carousel also featured a shot of the reality TV star in the hospital, her eyelids stitched up as she sat in bed, sporting a blue hairnet.
A video showed Bristowe being wheeled through the hospital hallways in a wheelchair, giggling as she documented the process. Later, she posted a follow-up selfie from her recovery bed, showing her bright red eyelids as she continued to share her healing journey with fans.
In her one post, Bristowe shared details about the procedure, writing, “I got an upper bleph (take it to your group chat if you wanna be negative).” On Monday, she updated her followers with a video discussing her progress. “Okay this eye is like healed,” she said, referencing the right eyelid, which had healed faster than her left. “I don’t know if it’s because I took a steroid pack, it’s wild,” she added.
Bristowe, who has been open about past cosmetic procedures, expressed her satisfaction with her recovery, saying, “I’ve seen some people with their healing journey of an upper bleph, and mine’s actually going really well. So yeah, this is day four… and I’m just stoked on the healing journey!”
Blepharoplasty, as explained by Cleveland Clinic, is a surgical procedure that enhances the appearance of the eyelids by reducing the appearance of drooping skin and tired eyes. Bristowe, known for her candidness regarding her cosmetic treatments, previously revealed in 2021 that she had undergone a variety of procedures, including brow lifts, teeth bonding, and lip fillers.
In a later update, Bristowe clarified a past procedure, explaining that her brow lift had not involved surgery but was achieved with Botox.
