Lisa Kudrow, the beloved Friends star, has shared her thoughts on undergoing cosmetic procedures, revealing her personal struggles with aging and self-image.
In a candid discussion on Dax Shepard’s podcast, the 61-year-old actress admitted to questioning herself when it comes to cosmetic treatments. “Can I forgive myself for not having some work done on that face? Can I forgive myself for getting older and not doing something about it?” she reflected, expressing the internal conflict many face regarding the pressures of aging in Hollywood.
Kudrow, who has often wondered if she should pursue cosmetic procedures, acknowledged that watching others, particularly on television, made her feel self-conscious. “Others have a jawline, so maybe I’m supposed to have one,” she confessed. However, she also raised the broader question, “Should I? Am I supposed to? Are you allowed?”
Despite her reservations, Kudrow shared that her husband, Michel Stern, has been a strong influence, as he discourages her from altering her appearance. “He won’t let me do anything to my face,” she explained.
Interestingly, Kudrow revealed that she did try Botox for the first time last year, at the age of 60. She recalled the experience humorously, recalling how her doctor was surprised, saying, “I’ve never checked the box for ‘first time’ in LA before. You’re unique.” Kudrow laughed at the thought, quipping, “And then I hear ‘unique’ as a euphemism for ‘idiot.'”
Ultimately, Kudrow made it clear that she does not judge others for opting for cosmetic enhancements, showing a thoughtful and non-judgmental attitude toward those who choose to alter their appearance.
In her discussion, Kudrow’s vulnerability and humor shone through, making her stance on the subject one of self-acceptance and understanding.
