Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham has once again stirred controversy with a scathing one-star Yelp review, this time targeting a medical spa in Austin, Texas, where she underwent a cosmetic procedure. The review follows her claims of an unsatisfactory experience with dissolver injections, a treatment intended to break down facial fillers and reverse the effects of previous Botox work.
Abraham, known for publicly documenting her various cosmetic enhancements, sought out the dissolver injections in an effort to undo previous procedures. However, she alleges that the med spa mishandled her treatment, leaving one side of her face swollen and with reduced mobility. She posted several photographs of her face, showing the noticeable asymmetry and swelling, which she said were a result of improper treatment.
In her November 11 Yelp review, Abraham expressed her frustration, stating, “No one should pay and waste months being a research project.” She accused the spa’s owner and injector, identified as Devon, of not properly balancing both sides of her face and allegedly dragging out the treatment process on purpose.
Abraham further criticized Devon’s professionalism, accusing the injector of “gaslighting” and exhibiting “narcissistic” behavior. She also claimed that her facial nerves were impacted, and the entire experience amounted to “abuse” and a waste of her time.
“She [Devon] should shut down her practice. It’s sad her staff has to witness such horrible business practices,” Abraham wrote in the review.
In response to Abraham’s allegations, the med spa’s owner replied on Yelp on November 14, explaining that the clinic had chosen to end their provider-patient relationship due to Abraham’s persistent demands for treatments that did not align with medical advice.
“We made the professional decision to discontinue our provider-patient relationship due to the repeated insistence on treatments that did not align with our medical advice,” the response stated. “We adhere to medically sound judgment when assessing the suitability of treatments, and our commitment to safe and balanced care sometimes necessitates recommending against specific procedures and turning patients away if we believe that the request (or demand) of the patient for aesthetic treatment could compromise their well-being.”
The spa’s owner concluded the response by reiterating their commitment to providing the highest standard of care to all clients. “We respectfully advise all clients based on these principles,” the statement read.
As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Abraham’s review will lead to further legal or public fallout for the med spa.
