Comedian Nikki Glaser is preparing to take the spotlight as the host of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, but the 40-year-old star had to make a significant adjustment to her personal plans to accept the prestigious gig.
Glaser, who is known for her bold comedy and quick wit, was originally set to undergo a plastic surgery procedure during the same week as the awards ceremony. In a recent interview, the comedian revealed that she had considered undergoing a brow lift or another invasive surgery in early January.
“I was thinking about having a brow lift or some other procedure I had been researching,” Glaser told CBS ahead of the event, adding that she had planned for the surgery to take place in January 2025.
However, Glaser’s plans took a sudden turn when her agents called with exciting news. “When it’s two agents calling you, you know it’s good news,” Glaser joked. “When it’s bad news, they only send one person to do it.” She was informed that the Golden Globes hosting opportunity was available and that the show was scheduled for January 5, 2025. The only catch? The ceremony’s timing conflicted with her planned surgery.
Glaser was asked if she could reschedule the procedure for the second week of January. She didn’t hesitate to push back her surgery and seize the opportunity to host the iconic awards show.
Despite the major change in her schedule, Glaser expressed confidence in her ability to deliver a memorable performance at the Golden Globes. “I’m gonna nail it,” she declared. “Maybe I won’t nail it in some people’s eyes, but I will have nailed it in my eyes because I’ve set up a system leading up to it that I couldn’t possibly work harder on.”
Though Glaser acknowledged the pressure of the event, she admitted that nerves only fuel her determination. “I thrive on anxiety,” she said, emphasizing her readiness to rise to the occasion.
