Dr. Mark M. Melendez, a renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) following the organization’s recent annual meeting. Dr. Melendez, a board-certified surgeon actively involved in the Continuous Certification Program of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, operates his practice from the R.D. Scinto Corporate Towers in Shelton, Connecticut. In his new role, Dr. Melendez will contribute to advancing FCMA’s mission of amplifying the collective voice of its nearly 1,000 physician members while strengthening its presence in the healthcare landscape.

Established in 1792 by a Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly, FCMA’s purpose is to unite physicians in Fairfield County, safeguard the art and science of medicine, educate the public on health-related issues, and promote community wellness.

Dr. Mark M. Melendez is a fellowship-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries for the face, breast, and body. He is highly regarded for his expertise in breast and body contouring and facial rejuvenation. Dr. Melendez serves as Division Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Vincent’s Medical Center (Hartford Healthcare) and as Medical Director of Breast Reconstruction at Griffin Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine.
Dr. Melendez completed a two-year plastic surgery residency with the New York Plastic Surgical Group, the largest plastic surgery group in the U.S., followed by a prestigious Microvascular Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
