A tragic incident has shaken the social media community as popular nail influencer Asli Fernández passed away following a “mommy makeover” cosmetic procedure. The 30-year-old mother of two, who boasted a substantial following of 80,000 on Facebook and 44,000 on Instagram, underwent the surgery, which typically includes a tummy tuck, liposuction, and breast lift. This increasingly popular procedure is sought by women who wish to enhance their post-pregnancy bodies.
Fernández, a beloved nail technician who also ran a successful clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, traveled to Monterrey to undergo the operation. While most patients return to normal activities within two to four weeks, a full recovery can take up to six months. Her husband, Christian Carreón, confirmed her death on January 7, sharing the devastating news with her followers via social media.
In his emotional tribute, Carreón wrote: “I know you were a very dear person and that many people admired you, my love.” He also invited her fans to attend her wake, which was scheduled for that evening at the San Gabriel funeral home in Fundadores, Tijuana.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of grief from her followers, with many expressing their disbelief at the loss. One follower commented, “I can’t believe she’s no longer here,” while others left messages of sympathy, remembering Fernández as a source of inspiration and positivity.
Asli had ambitious plans for 2025, including a nail care course in Mexicali and Tijuana. Just days before her death, she shared on Facebook her hopes for the year, saying, “This year smells like money, ambition, health, and accomplishments.”
The circumstances surrounding her passing are under investigation, as authorities seek to understand what led to her tragic death. Fernández’s death follows a similar tragedy earlier this year when Instagram influencer Elena Larrea died at the age of 30 due to complications after a liposuction procedure. Larrea’s death, attributed to a pulmonary embolism, has raised further concerns about the risks associated with cosmetic surgery.
As investigations into Fernández’s death continue, the community remains in mourning, with her passing leaving a significant impact on her family, friends, and fans alike.
