Love Island Australia star shares her journey with botched breast surgery, urging others to research thoroughly before opting for similar procedures.
Georgia Murray, star of Love Island Australia Season 5, has shared her personal experience with a botched breast augmentation, opening up about the physical and emotional toll the procedure took on her.
The 23-year-old reality star candidly discussed her breast surgery experience, revealing that she underwent the procedure at age 18. Initially, she had hoped for a “subtle” look, but her surgeon advised her to opt for high-profile implants placed over the muscle. Murray, who had saved $15,000 for the surgery, placed her trust in the hands of the professionals, admitting that she was young and uninformed at the time.
In a TikTok video, Murray described the surgery as a “nightmare botch story,” explaining that while she woke up in good health, she soon began noticing serious issues. One of her implants rotated after her surgeon instructed her to wear a regular bra instead of a compression bra, resulting in an unflattering appearance.
Reflecting on the aftermath, she shared, “It looked ridiculous. That was just really sad.” Despite her lack of research prior to the procedure, Murray expressed frustration, feeling that after spending over $15,000 on the surgery, she expected better care and results.
“I literally saved every single dollar from the ages of 16 to 18 to pay for these and I was left with the most ridiculous looking breasts,” she said.
Two years later, she underwent a second surgery to correct the issues, but by then, much of the damage had already been done. Murray revealed that she had lost sensation in both of her breasts as a result of the botched procedure.
In her TikTok video, she urged viewers to thoroughly research any cosmetic procedures they are considering, emphasizing the importance of being well-informed about potential risks. “If I had known all of this back then, there’s no way I would’ve done it,” she said. “I recommend to really do your research, really be ready for anything that could happen or just learn to love yourself.”
Fans flooded the comments section to thank Murray for her vulnerability, sharing similar experiences and expressing gratitude for her transparency. One fan wrote, “Thank you for being so open and vulnerable!! It’s important for people to know the risks and to do good research.” Another commented, “This is so so helpful, thank you for sharing.”
Murray, who rose to fame on Love Island Australia in 2023, entered the Villa as a Bombshell and later formed a relationship with fellow contestant Nate Page. The couple briefly split after leaving the show but have since rekindled their romance, celebrating over a year together.
