Mira Rajput Kapoor, a prominent social media personality with millions of followers, has made significant strides in carving out her own identity. Since launching her YouTube channel in March 2021, she has garnered 332,000 subscribers, sharing glimpses of her life through vlogs and hosting her podcast Skin & Within, where she discusses skincare with renowned personalities and family members. Her deep passion for skincare culminated in the creation of her brand, Akind, which launched in June 2024. However, Mira has faced allegations of not personally using the products she promotes.
Mira Rajput Kapoor Declares Her Loyalty to Akind Products
At a recent masterclass during the Ajio Luxe Wkend 2025 event, Mira addressed the rumors head-on. In a video that quickly went viral, she firmly stated that she exclusively uses her brand’s products.
“A lot of people say, ‘You are not using the product,’ or ‘Are you actually using your product?’ I only use my products, and that is why I have used it as is today,” Mira explained. “I use every product. So, I am actually wearing the skin tint; there is no foundation and no concealer. This is exactly what Sand 130 looks like.”
Mira also addressed the editing in promotional videos, explaining that while certain cuts might make it seem as though some products weren’t used, they were included to showcase application techniques. Her demonstration of the Akind skin tint during the event was a testament to her dedication to her brand.
Skepticism Among Netizens
Despite Mira’s assertions, netizens remain skeptical. After the video circulated on platforms like Instagram and Reddit, many users expressed doubts about her claims, suggesting her defense lacked credibility.
One user sarcastically commented, “If she’s using her products, then I am the PM of India, and you all will get ₹10,000 per month in your bank account.” Another added, “When I used to lie to my mom about my mark sheet with jumbled explanations, she’d say, ‘If you have to explain so much, it’s just not right.’ Chill, Mira! Nobody cares for your products—not even you.”
Some also pointed out that Mira’s demonstration seemed limited to the skin tint, fueling further doubt about her commitment to using the entire Akind range.
Akind’s Journey to the Skincare Market
Mira Rajput Kapoor’s foray into entrepreneurship began with the launch of Akind in June 2024. At a high-profile event at Jio World Drive, attended by Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, she introduced her brand to the world. Akind aims to simplify skincare routines, offering products tailored to everyday needs.
The brand quickly gained traction, with its products becoming available on Isha Ambani Piramal’s Tira Beauty platform, under the umbrella of Reliance Retail. Mira, who co-founded the label, emphasized her vision of creating accessible and effective skincare solutions during the brand’s launch.
The Road Ahead
As Mira Rajput Kapoor continues to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship, her public statements and demonstrations will likely play a key role in shaping consumer perception. Whether the skepticism surrounding her usage claims diminishes over time remains to be seen, but her passion for skincare and vision for Akind remain at the forefront of her journey.
