Justin Baldoni has taken legal action against his It Ends with Us co-star, Blake Lively, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, filing a $400 million lawsuit that alleges creative interference, defamation, and bullying during the production of the film.
In the lawsuit, Baldoni accuses Lively and Reynolds of exerting their influence to take over the creative direction of the movie, effectively pushing him out of the process. He claims that when Lively faced backlash from fans, she portrayed it as a smear campaign orchestrated by him. Furthermore, Baldoni alleges that Lively fabricated false sexual harassment accusations to give her public relations efforts a false narrative and retaliate against him.
A significant portion of the suit centers around allegations of bullying behavior from Lively. In one instance, Baldoni claims that Lively mocked his physical appearance, specifically his nose, suggesting he should undergo cosmetic surgery. According to the suit, the incident occurred while filming a romance montage, during which Lively reportedly broke character and began to make personal remarks about Baldoni’s features.
The lawsuit further asserts that Lively’s behavior disrupted the production process, particularly during a scene where she allegedly broke character again, speaking “as herself” rather than her role as Lily Bloom. Baldoni found this behavior confusing and unprofessional.
In addition to the allegations, Baldoni maintains that there is evidence to support his claims. He asserts that the conversation, including Lively’s comments about his nose, was recorded, contrary to Lively’s belief that the scene was filmed without sound. Baldoni insists that his microphone picked up the entire exchange, providing proof of the alleged bullying.
The legal dispute has generated significant attention, with fans and media closely monitoring the ongoing developments. As the lawsuit continues, both sides are likely to present further evidence to support their respective claims.
