Kimberly Guilfoyle, once romantically linked to California Governor Gavin Newsom in the early 2000s, has undergone a noticeable transformation that has sparked intense speculation regarding the changes to her appearance. Dr. Dennis Schimpf, a board-certified plastic surgeon from Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery & Spa in Charleston, South Carolina, provided his expert analysis of her facial changes, offering insight into the potential procedures that may have contributed to her current look.
Dr. Schimpf observed that, when reviewing photos of the former prosecutor over the years, Guilfoyle had “very good bone structure,” with features such as full lips and almond-shaped eyes that appeared naturally stunning. He emphasized that her face’s natural beauty made it clear why she had worked as a model earlier in her career. However, as people age, facial volume tends to diminish, and skin begins to wrinkle, leading many to consider cosmetic procedures.
In Guilfoyle’s case, Dr. Schimpf suspects that she initially began with non-invasive treatments such as Botox, particularly in areas like the forehead, crow’s feet, and glabella (the space between the eyebrows). “Good skin care” also played a part in preserving her youthful appearance. Over time, however, the surgeon believes she may have turned to facial fillers to further enhance her bone structure, maintaining the youthful, inverted-triangle shape of her face, especially from her mid-face to chin.
However, Dr. Schimpf pointed out that Guilfoyle’s efforts may have gone too far. The surgeon explained the phenomenon known as “filler creep effect,” in which repeated filler injections can lead to an overfilled appearance, causing the face to lose its natural balance. He also speculated that Guilfoyle might have undergone surgical procedures, which could explain some of the more dramatic changes to her appearance.
Dr. Schimpf noted that Guilfoyle’s facelift was particularly evident in her tightened jawline and neck. He also suggested that she may have had adjustments made to her nose and eyelids. “It appears she has most likely had a neck and lower or possibly complete facelift to maintain the tightness of her jawline and neck, addressing the natural effects of aging,” he said.
Looking ahead, Dr. Schimpf advised that Guilfoyle reconsider additional cosmetic procedures. “If anything, I would recommend dissolving some of the filler in her lips and face to restore a more natural look,” he suggested. While acknowledging that the heavy makeup and potential Photoshopping in some of her photos might skew his observations, the surgeon ultimately concluded that, despite her altered appearance, the 55-year-old remains “youthful” for her age.
