Healing Paper, the operator of South Korea’s largest plastic surgery information platform, Gangnam Unni, has secured 42.8 billion won ($30 million) in Series C funding to drive its international expansion and enhance its B2B solutions for aesthetic medical clinics. The funding round, which was announced on Monday, saw investments from prominent firms including Korea Investment Partners, Shinhan Venture Investment, KT Investment, IMM Investment, and Kiwoom Investment. Korea Investment Partners led the round and will join the company’s board of directors.
Existing investors such as Premier Partners, InterVest, Aju IB Investment, and DSC Investment also participated as follow-on investors.
Gangnam Unni dominates the Korean medical aesthetics landscape, connecting over 6.7 million users to 3,700 dermatology and plastic surgery clinics across Korea and Japan. This fresh injection of capital comes at a time when demand for Korean cosmetic procedures is surging globally. Notably, consultations from Japan have increased twentyfold within a year, and the company has expanded its Thai-language services in response to growing interest from Southeast Asia.
Since its entry into Japan in 2019, Healing Paper has facilitated more than 300,000 consultations for Japanese patients seeking cosmetic treatments in Korea. In December, the company launched UNNI, a multilingual cross-border service designed to connect patients from 104 countries to Korean clinics. The platform offers transparent pricing, authentic reviews, and direct booking capabilities, positioning Gangnam Unni as a leader in international medical aesthetics.
In addition to Japan, Healing Paper expanded into Thailand in November, capitalizing on the region’s burgeoning interest in K-beauty. The new Thai-language platform enables users to navigate Gangnam Unni’s services without the need for brokers, distinguishing it from traditional medical tourism services. The company is also introducing concierge services and organizing offline consultation events for Thai patients traveling to Korea for treatments.
On the B2B front, Healing Paper is developing a suite of tools including CRM software, marketing solutions, and medical photography equipment to assist dermatology and plastic surgery clinics in managing their international clientele and marketing efforts more effectively.
