Tom Cruise, 63, has sparked a flurry of speculation regarding potential cosmetic procedures after his appearance in the Super Bowl introductory video earlier this month. Fans and online observers noted the actor’s notably smooth and youthful appearance, prompting speculation about possible facial enhancements.
While these rumors swirl, a number of facial cosmetic surgeons have weighed in with their professional opinions. Dr. Renata Khelemsky, a double board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon, suggested that Cruise may have undergone “volume restoration,” potentially through fat grafting or dermal fillers. Although she has not treated the actor personally, Dr. Khelemsky noted that if Cruise did undergo procedures, they appear to have been beneficial, helping him achieve a noticeably refreshed look.
“In Tom’s case, this appears to have made a significant change in the midface, cheeks, and under-eye areas, restoring a fuller look,” Dr. Khelemsky commented. She pointed out the stark contrast between his more youthful appearance and older photos, where volume loss was more apparent.
The surgeon praised Cruise for what she described as a “strategic, staged approach to facial rejuvenation,” which made him appear both refreshed and more youthful.
Meanwhile, plastic surgeon Dr. Gaurav Barti from Charlotte, North Carolina, also noticed changes to Cruise’s jawline. Dr. Barti observed that the actor’s jawline now appears less defined than it has in the past. “He looks a little fuller on the Super Bowl broadcast, and his face appears more stretched out, rather than having the sharp definition he typically exhibits,” he explained.
Dr. Barti speculated that the changes could be due to weight gain or perhaps an overuse of dermal fillers, which could stretch the skin and add volume to the face. Dr. Bill Kortesis, a colleague of Dr. Barti at HKB Cosmetic Surgery, agreed, noting that people with an athletic build, like Cruise, often have more chiseled, angular features that can become fuller with age or cosmetic procedures.
Despite the ongoing speculation, Cruise has yet to confirm whether he has undergone any cosmetic procedures. However, experts suggest that any enhancements he may have pursued appear to have contributed positively to his overall appearance, maintaining his signature youthful look.
