Kimberly Guilfoyle, former prosecutor and partner to Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, continues to face scrutiny over her changing appearance, with plastic surgery rumors swirling once again. A recently resurfaced throwback photo, believed to have been taken in 2020, shows the couple holding a Donald Trump sign, reminding viewers of how much their appearances have shifted in just a few years.
While many speculate that cosmetic procedures may be to blame, Dr. Brian Reagan, a board-certified plastic surgeon, suggests that natural aging could be just as responsible for the noticeable changes in their faces. “When comparing photos from 2020 to 2024, we can observe signs of aging that are consistent with the natural changes seen in men and women of their age,” Dr. Reagan told The List.
In Guilfoyle’s case, Reagan suspects that she may have lost weight, with a visible reduction in central facial fat, which is a common effect of aging. He also pointed out that her lower face and neck show significant signs of aging. As for Gaetz, Reagan believes his altered appearance could be a result of both weight gain and cosmetic treatments. “It seems like Gaetz may have gained some weight, which is common as people reach their 40s and 50s,” he explained. “Additionally, it appears he has used Botox, as seen in his arched and lowered brow, which is characteristic of the procedure.”
The couple’s suspected cosmetic work was on full display at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where they both took the stage to support Donald Trump. However, their appearances quickly became a talking point, overshadowing their speeches. “Bad plastic surgery does not discriminate,” one social media user wrote. “She has to stop those injections!” another commenter added.
Dr. Gary Motykie, a renowned plastic surgeon, also weighed in on their appearances. He confirmed the likelihood of Botox use and suggested that both Guilfoyle and Gaetz may have had filler treatments. He speculated that Gaetz’s overdone appearance at the RNC could be the result of a common mistake—undergoing cosmetic treatments too close to an event. “People often get Botox or filler just before an important event, not realizing that it can take a couple of weeks for the procedures to fully settle in,” Motykie explained. “The result can look overly puffy or artificial right away, but appear more natural once the swelling subsides.”
The RNC appearance provided another example of the potential pitfalls of cosmetic surgery, leaving some viewers questioning whether the procedures helped or hindered the politicians’ public image.
