Eye Health America (EHA), a leading integrated eye care provider in the Southeastern United States, has announced a strategic partnership with the Eye Center of Central Georgia (ECCG). This marks EHA’s 30th partnership and 14th Ambulatory Surgery Center, further solidifying its growing footprint in Georgia. ECCG joins EHA’s established practices in Columbus (West Georgia Eye Care Center) and Augusta (Southeast Retina Center). The new alliance will bring comprehensive vision services to the communities of Macon and Warner Robins, aligning with EHA’s mission to “make lives better with personalized eyecare.”
Dr. Malcolm “Sid” Moore, a physician at ECCG, expressed his excitement over the partnership, stating, “With Eye Health America’s resources and support, we’re excited to expand our care to more patients in need across Central Georgia.”
A Legacy of Excellence in Central Georgia
Established in 1965 by Dr. Fleetwood Maddox, the Eye Center of Central Georgia has built a legacy of exceptional eye care. Dr. Maddox, alongside Dr. Braswell Collins, Dr. John Page, and Dr. L.E. Brown, laid the foundation for a practice that would grow into a regional leader. Today, the practice is led by Dr. Moore, Dr. Spencer “Chip” Maddox, Dr. John Ervin, and Dr. Bill Taylor, OD, who continue the tradition of providing superior medical, surgical, and routine vision care to patients of all ages.
“We are thrilled to welcome this respected practice to the Eye Health America family,” said Mary Lou Parisi, Co-CEO of Eye Health America. “This partnership will allow us to extend our high-quality care to more patients across central Georgia, while continuing the proud legacy of excellence established by ECCG.”
Innovation and Growth in Eye Care
ECCG is renowned for its pioneering work in the ophthalmic field, including the opening of Georgia’s first private Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center in 1985. Known for its advanced cataract surgery, ECCG also provides specialized care in refractive cataract, cornea, oculoplastic, pediatric, and glaucoma surgery. The practice offers a comprehensive range of services, including medical wellness care, contact lenses, and optical services.
Dr. Moore emphasized the importance of the partnership in continuing ECCG’s commitment to excellence: “Joining Eye Health America enables us to uphold our tradition of providing the highest standard of eye care to our community, with the added benefit of expanded resources and support.”
Expanding EHA’s Vision Across the Southeast
This new partnership supports Eye Health America’s strategic expansion in the Southeastern United States, adding another distinguished practice to its growing network of providers. “The acquisition of Eye Center of Central Georgia strengthens our portfolio and enhances our ability to provide patient-centered eye care to Georgians,” added John Swencki, Co-CEO of EHA.
